Colourmind garden

Prince of Wales Hospital (Sydney)

This was a beautiful brief to work on with such a positive impact. We were tasked with helping Taubmans make a colourful impact in the local community, one brush stroke at a time. To do this we created Australia's first Colour-mind Garden in the spinal unit at The Prince of Wales Hospital helping to aid in the mental wellbeing and development of spinal patients receiving treatment at the hospital.

Designed by Taubmans colour expert, Shaynna Blaze and cognitive neuroscientist, Dr. Stan Rodski, the garden was developed off the back of Dr Stan's research demonstrating the impact of colour and the benefit that colouring between the lines has in reducing stress and helping brain function, transporting human brainwaves from a pressured and stressed state of 'BETA' to a more relaxed state of 'ALPHA'.

The garden, was the first of its kind in Australia, and featured a live art instillation mural designed to signify a patient journey through colour. Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s beloved husband John who was a patient in the spinal unit at the time worked with Shyanna Blaze, Dr Stan Rodski and hospital nursing staff to colour between the lines and create the live instillation which was amplified via media channels.
